Youbibi (www.youbibi.com) is a Chinese travel search and trip planning website. We help people in China search for travel products and plan their trips. Youbibi means `travel comparison` in Chinese.
China`s travel industry is highly fragmented and still largely offline. There are more than 20,000 travel agents and over eighty percent of travel products are sold by traditional offline travel agents. It is hard for Chinese travelers to perform a detailed online comparison of travel products from multiple sources. This is especially so for complex products such as packaged holidays, which form a major part of the Chinese travel market. Most packaged holidays are sold purely using static text-based descriptions.
Youbibi aggregates detailed, real-time travel product information from multiple sources and displays it in a format specially designed to aid comparison. For travel products such as packaged holidays, Youbibi dissects each package into its component parts - e.g. flights, hotel and tourist attractions - and lays them out side-by-side to ease comparison. We also show the traveler similar/identical components on an individual basis. The traveler is then able to decide whether it makes more sense to buy a package or purchase each component individually.
Youbibi also offers unique visual trip planning features. We convert a typical package holiday text description into a visual display. A traveler can not only read the text description, but also view the flights, hotels and tourist attractions in a format similar to viewing a short video. Both travelers and travel sellers can create trips in this format, simply by dragging and dropping different travel components into a trip plan.
The Chinese travel market was worth over USD 70 billion in 2010. Depending on product, advertising and distribution costs range from 5% to 20%. We are addressing a USD 10 billion market which is transitioning fast from offline to online. Youbibi combines search and e-commerce in the travel space. We are like a Chinese shopping mall filled with travel agents, airlines and hotels. Travelers compare products and prices, then purchase directly from the travel seller (a supplier or travel agent). Youbibi either routes the traveler to the travel seller`s payment platform or collects payment on the travel seller`s behalf. Travelers get the convenience of a one-stop online travel mall with unique trip planning tools. Travel sellers get a targeted platform for advertising and distribution, with the ability to showcase their products in a visual, interactive format. Youbibi makes Chinese travel search easier and better.
