NeuStep was founded in 2009 by Raphael Bennett and Gene Ellis and is headquartered in Chicago, IL
NeuStep is a leader in interior immersive mapping. Our organization solves some of the most challenging problems that currently plague institutions, events, and businesses. Our efforts serve three primary customer types: Brick and Mortar, Healthcare, and events & conventions. Our company builds products and experiences that helps businesses protect their reputation from over marketing, helps those using healthcare services to avoid anxiety, and increases the number of people exposed to events and conventions.
NeuStep’s WebWalk™ is strictly a web-based application - meaning that its primary home is the web on a web page and is designed to be accessed through all commonly available web browsers. The best way to identify with WebWalk is to envision a modern day first person video game. A first person video game creates a virtual experience that is self controlled through the use of a game controller allowing you to walk around, look up, down and all around, etc. NeuStep’s WebWalk™ is quite similar, the only difference is that the environment that you’re controlling is made from a real place that is captured using photographic information which is then stitched and constructed into what we call WebWalk™. Instead of using a video game controller, you use a mouse to control the action in each WebWalk™ environment. The perception and the controls are relatively the same, but instead you’re self controlling an experience that actually exists somewhere.
Our WebWalk experience provides businesses with the tools to build engaging presentations that present the truth about their business to customers. WebWalk enables customers to self explore brick and mortar spaces from any web enabled device; even mobile. Our new medium brings the most modern depiction of “ what you see is what you get”, (a.k.a. WYSIWYG) into the immediate hands of consumers. Unlike any other experience, WebWalk allows the business to control their content, but for the first time, the customer controls their experience and is allowed to contribute their own content for others to see. WebWalk provides a failsafe for businesses who fall prey to “over-marketing” themselves and provides the opportunity to protect and preserve their reputation.
